Diving Adventures

Puerto Galera, boasts of an ideal natural harbor. Visited often for its enticing beaches and exciting dive sites for new, as well as experienced divers. There are over 25 dive sites in Galera, varying from rugged walls to gentle sand and coral covered slopes. There’s a profusion of marine life and a series of underwater canyons with large barrel sponges, angelfish, batfish and color everywhere. Its most popular dive sites are Hole in the Wall, Canyons, Shark Cave and Verde Island Wall.

Miniloc Front

Expertise Rating: Novice

A reef that gently slopes down to 18m that is sometimes used as a fish-feeding spot.

Dilumacad

Expertise Rating: Intermediate

Located at the Northern tip of Dilumacad Island with depth range of 10-25m, it is best known for a cave dive that can be found on the north side. The cave entrance is wide enough for two divers to pass through, descends to a sandy bottom then narrows to an exit at 22m. Expected sightings include crabs, small exotic fish, Spanish mackerel and jacks. Note that this dive should not be done when there is a strong north wind.

Banayan Point

Expertise Rating: Advanced

Situated in the Southern point of Matinloc Island, this is a great site to see pelagics. A dive certainly not for the fainthearted as the current can rip through these waters. Depth range is 24-36m.

Inambuyod Boulders

Expertise Rating: Intermediate

It offers an impressive wall dive where strong currents attract large pelagics and sustain lush, green corals and impressive gorgonians.

Tres Marias

Expertise Rating: Intermediate

Of particular interest is the unique species of angelfish (Pomacanthus annularis) - an angelfish with an extra stripe, found only here and at the nearby Inbogal Point.
